Protections on Public Lands & State Parks

In 2021 and 2022, a coalition of bird, pollinator and wildlife advocates requested the Minnesota DNR ban neonics and other synthetic insecticides including insecticide-coated seed from all public lands including state parks, scientific and natural areas, state forests, aquatic management areas and wildlife management areas. In an effort to protect at-risk species and habitats, it’s time for counties and states to discontinue leasing lands for insecticide-treated monocrops and convert them to much needed habitat.
